The Pokémon World Championships is set to happen August 16-18th in Honolulu Hawai’i. If you’re like me a TCG player or a VGC player who did not make enough CP to get their invite (there’s always next year). You’ll most likely be tuning in from home that weekend to watch the livestream of the World Championship. Good news! Pokémon has created a fun at-home activity for us spectators at home. It is the Fantasy Team Contest. The Fantasy Team Contest allows you to build your own TCG or VGC team rosters based on Tournemant-legal Pokémon. The better your fantasy team does in their respective game, the more prizes you can earn.

- The first-place Fantasy Team Contest participants in the Pokémon TCG and Pokémon VGC categories will each receive a snuggly jumbo Arcanine Poké Plush, in addition to a Worlds celebratory Pikachu promo card, a Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown Booster Display Box and a Pokémon Lazy Summer Spheal beach ball!
- Top 100 Winners
- The top 100 Fantasy Team Contest participants in the Pokémon TCG and Pokémon VGC categories will each receive a Worlds celebratory Pikachu promo card, a Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown Booster Display Box, and a Pokémon Lazy Summer Spheal beach ball!
- Early Entrants
- The first 10,000 registrants in the US and the first 2,000 registrants in Canada will receive a discount code to get 10 percent off their next Pokémon Center purchase, valid through August 31, 2024.
How Do I Participate?
- Register
- Log in with your Pokémon Trainer Club (PTC) account and agree to the Fantasy Team Terms and Conditions to get started.
- Build Your Fantasy Team
- Choose the Pokémon cards you want to include in your Pokémon TCG Fantasy Team and/or the Pokémon you want to include in your VGC Fantasy Team.
- Check Your Standing
- Scores are determined by the number of cards and/or Pokémon from among your selections that appear and place in the Top 8 teams.
- Get Prizes!
- If you finish among the top 100 participants in either category, you will receive additional prizes mailed to the address registered to your PTC account. These prizes will be shipped in September 2024.
